False balance does not belong in media reports

False balance is providing equal or near-equal coverage — and therefore equal or near-equal credibility — to science and pseudoscience. It is not balanced coverage to include equal amounts of quotes about the science of vaccines and then those who oppose vaccines based on inaccurate mythologies. For more on false balance, watch Dara O’Briain tells it like it is (or should be) about various delusions pretending to be medicine.

Another graphic from the American Institute of Biological Sciences also points out the silliness of false balance.
